We are seeking to establish a pool of Laboratory Technicians for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Under the supervision of teaching staff, the Laboratory Technician provides support in the preparation of chemicals and equipment, as well as the construction of simple apparatus for science classes. The role also involves ordering supplies and equipment, monitoring and managing stock levels, and performing basic repairs and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. In addition, the Laboratory Technician constructs teaching aids as required and is responsible for the labelling, maintenance, and safe storage of laboratory chemicals, equipment, and resources, as well as the safe disposal of chemical, physical, and biological laboratory materials.

The role may also involve assisting with the coordination of the science budget, including monitoring expenditure, providing advice as required, and managing business card accounts in accordance with Departmental financial guidelines.

We can supply training to candidates that demonstrate they can transfer their skills and upskill into this position.
