About the roles
Landgate delivers quality, timely and accurate information and services to customers and stakeholders, while registering and securing all land transactions in Western Australia within the State’s Land Titles Register. The plan examination team works with other Landgate teams to ensure lodged cadastral survey plans enable the issue of new titles for land and property across the State.
‘Survey Plan Examiners’ provide effective, quality, and timely completion of tasks for the processing of cadastral survey plans, in support of land titling and land development. They ensure all Crown, freehold and strata plans meet legislative requirements to help ensure land boundary certainty for land titles.
The Senior Consultant (Plans) role is responsible for undertaking examinations of a range of highly complex survey plans, to ensure compliance with relevant legal provisions. They provide high-level technical information and expertise on complex or contentious plan matters, ensuring compliant survey plans and supporting accurate cadastral data. The role mentors and coaches others, to uplift capability across the team.
The Land Titles Officer (Plans) role undertakes examinations of a range of complex survey plans, to ensure compliance with relevant legal provisions. They provide technical information to ensure compliant survey plans and support accurate cadastral data. They are responsible for improving their plan examination expertise.

Role requirements
To be successful in the level 5 Senior Consultant (Plans) role, please demonstrate:
- A high level of skill and knowledge in plan examination, surveying and/or cadastral data, as well as relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding of the land development process, with experience in Crown, freehold and/or strata subdivisions.
- Effective communication (verbal and written) in a consultative capacity to wide ranging audiences.
- Mentoring and coaching team members to build their technical expertise.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to analyse and resolve issues. High-level attention to detail and a methodical approach is essential.
To be successful in the level 4 Land Titles Officer (Plans) role, please demonstrate:
- Ability and practical experience in plans, surveying and/or cadastral data, preferably within a legislative framework.
- Proven high-level attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to convey technical information (verbal and written) clearly and effectively.
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service in a team environment.

Vacancies may be offered on a permanent or fixed term basis for 12 months following finalisation of the selection process.
The recommended applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment screening process prior to appointment. This includes provision of a current National Police Certificate that is less than twelve months old, declaration of any previous discipline or misconduct findings or allegations, and the verification of claims made throughout the recruitment process.
