We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Mount Hawthorn Primary School (PS) opened in 1906 and is situated on Wadjak Noongar boodja. The school provides outstanding educational opportunities to over 900 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students in Pre-primary to Year 6 are at the main campus on Killarney Street, Mount Hawthorn whilst Kindergarten students learn and play at our Richmond Street, Leederville campus.
Mount Hawthorn PS shares the Killarney Street campus with the highly regarded Mount Hawthorn Education Support Centre.

The Role
The School officer provides comprehensive administrative and operational support within a busy school environment, including front office reception, customer service, and communication with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing student enrolments and records, attendance tracking, Compass updates, and coordinating school tours, events, and orientation programs. The role also supports staff processes such as inductions, supporting recruitment, and relief staff coordination, while maintaining strong relationships across the school community.
The School officer will oversee financial and office operations, including cash handling, EFTPOS processing, ordering and managing supplies, and coordinating maintenance and service requests. Additional duties may include medical and student welfare support, maintaining confidential records, assisting with compliance requirements, and providing general administrative support to the Leadership Team. Flexibility and a proactive approach are highly desireable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running with school.

- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
