We are seeking to establish a pool of Administrative Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) provides quality teaching, diverse, stimulating performance and enrichment opportunities, supporting every instrumental music student to realise their full potential. 

IMSS collaborates with nearly 500 public schools across Western Australia to enhance students' musical education through practical music-making. Our holistic approach emphasises individual growth and group collaboration, offering a structured curriculum in a variety of instrumental disciplines, including Brass, Classical Guitar, Contemporary Guitar and Bass, Percussion, Strings, Voice, and Woodwind. Students develop creativity, expression, and technical proficiency through weekly lessons and ensemble opportunities.

We believe in integrating music education with the broader school curriculum, enriching academic experiences through artistic development. Our program provides numerous enrichment opportunities, including performances, workshops, and festivals, fostering collaboration and a sense of community among students. The Role

Suitable applicants will provide clerical and administrative support to the school executive and work unit, contributing to the effective day-to-day operations of the school.

The role includes supporting a range of administrative processes such as managing correspondence and emails, maintaining filing systems, preparing routine reports, and collecting and organising information to assist with planning and decision-making.

Applicants should assist with financial and administrative tasks including processing payments, supporting purchasing and procurement activities, and assisting with basic financial reporting and documentation.

The role also supports school systems and databases, ensuring information is accurately entered, updated and maintained in accordance with Department policies and procedures.

Suitable applicants would prepare and distribute meeting documentation, including agendas and minutes, and follow up on routine actions as required, providing clerical support to the school executive and, where applicable, school boards or committees.

Applicants will assist with travel arrangements and provide general administrative support across a range of school activities and projects.

The role includes providing a high standard of customer service, including responding to telephone and visitor enquiries, liaising with staff, students, parents and the wider community, and supporting reception as required.

Suitable applicants will ideally use initiative to resolve routine matters, apply Department policies and procedures, and contribute to the efficient operation of the school.

  • Clear and coherent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
