The Role

We are seeking an exceptional educational leader to join our Executive Leadership Team. This is an opportunity to influence the direction of a large, high-performing and highly regarded school, building on strong recent results and contributing to the delivery of our 2026–2028 Business Plan and next phase of growth.

Working in close partnership with the Principal and Associate Principals, you will ideally help shape and enact the school’s strategic direction. You should be confident in using evidence-informed practice and data analysis to identify priorities, provide clear rationale for change, inform decision-making and drive sustained improvement.

This role is suited to a high-performing Deputy or Associate Principal with a proven capacity to lead change, develop people and build a culture of reflection, collaboration and performance. Ideally, you will possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, negotiate and influence effectively, exercise sound professional judgement, and develop strong relationships with students, families and staff across the school.

Portfolio responsibilities will be aligned to the strengths of the successful applicant, with clear whole-school influence.

A core component of your portfolio will be the leadership and management of Student Services, which is central to Duncraig’s success as it underpins the conditions for learning in every classroom. You would use data to diagnose trends, prioritise improvement areas and implement targeted strategies that improve student engagement, wellbeing and achievement. The Student Services team is multidisciplinary and is comprised of three (3) Student Services Managers, each leading sub-school cohorts, six (6) Year Coordinators, two (2) Psychologists, Youth Support Officer, Chaplain, Attendance Officers and First Aid/Community Nurses.

The successful applicant should lead sustained improvement, build staff capability and workforce effectiveness, and ensure systems, policies and practices reflect and embed our values of Care, Engage and Excel.
