Your new role
Bring your skills, experience and talent to our
Finance and Business Services team as a Budget Analyst (Finance
Business Partner).
We are seeking a positive, motivated and customer‑focused
finance professional who enjoys working with people, shaping
decisions and solving real problems – not just crunching
numbers.
At HSS, our Finance Business Partners sit at the centre of major
operational, digital and workforce decisions across the WA health
system. In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders,
programme teams and subject‑matter experts to translate complexity
into clarity and help services deliver better outcomes for Western
Australians.
This is not a passive or back‑office reporting role. You will be
trusted, visible and influential – partnering with the business,
constructively challenging assumptions, and supporting leaders to
make informed, confident decisions.
As a member of our team, you will help us achieve our purpose of
supporting WA health system customers to provide excellent health
care by:
- Partnering with leaders to shape budgets, forecasts and
funding decisions that actually stick
- Turning numbers into decisions through clear, practical
financial advice
- Surfacing and managing financial risk early, with
plain‑English explanations and options
- Driving actionable insights through modelling, scenarios
and performance analysis
We’re looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with stakeholders and is comfortable having
robust, respectful conversations
- Can explain financial concepts to non‑finance audiences in
clear, plain English
- Thinks beyond the numbers to what they mean and what action
should follow
- Is curious, pragmatic and comfortable operating in complex
environments
You’ll bring:
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial
analysis
- Demonstrated experience providing finance advice in a
partnering or advisory context
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and
multidisciplinary teams
- A continuous improvement mindset and interest in modern
finance and data tools
This is a Recruitment Pool for initial Fixed Term appointments
(up to 12 months), Full Time and Part Time, with the possibility of
permanency and/or extension(s).
For a full statement of position responsibilities, please refer
to the Job Description Form (JDF) available at the top of this

advice and decision support.
