The Role
Beenyup PS is seeking an experienced and motivated School Psychologist to join our team. As a key member of our student services team, the school psychologist will provide high quality psychological services that support student success with a strong emphasis on building whole‑school capacity beyond direct service delivery.
The successful applicant will contribute to collaborative case management processes, support the development and review of documented plans, apply analytical skills to identify student needs, potential barriers to learning and wellbeing, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to ensure that students receive timely and effective support. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with staff to implement effective strategies that address identified learning, social and behavioural needs. Our psychologist will provide targeted support for students at risk and will partner with school leaders to strengthen whole school responses to intervention. The role includes contributing to the development and implementation of school based services and programs, while working closely with the Learning Support Team to coordinate priorities and ensure cohesive support for students.
The successful applicant will bring a strong understanding of evidence informed approaches to student wellbeing, engagement and learning which will contribute to embedding the conditions that promote wellbeing, inclusion and positive engagement across classrooms and the broader school environment. The School Psychologist will support students at risk, partner with leaders to enhance whole‑school responses to intervention. A strong understanding of inclusive, evidence‑based practices will be essential to promoting positive engagement, wellbeing, and learning across classrooms and the broader school community.

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

- Demonstrated ability to implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
