We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs - Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Located in the centre of Morley, our school of 227 Kindergarten to Year 6 students is at the heart of the community and has been for over 90 years. We celebrate a culturally diverse community which is united by high hopes and expectations for our students and school. Our dedicated staff are committed to ensuring all students achieve their potential through excellence in teaching and support them to be their best in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment.

The Role

Education Assistants hold a valued position in our team. Our Education Assistants collaborate in a team environment to support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans and other documented plans. Applicants should have knowledge of students with additional needs, and the capacity to support students with social skill development and emotional regulation. Experience supporting students from English as an Additional Language/Dialect backgrounds will be highly regarded. As an Education Assistant you would, often independently, work and perform tasks that require discretion and judgement to assist students in achieving their full potential. We strive for an inclusive school environment that caters for students with a diverse range of support needs both academically and socially.

Education Assistants support students and classes across a wide range of curriculum areas and year levels within the school. Suitable applicants will ideally possess a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with teachers to scaffold the curriculum and provide learning adjustments. Experience with Literacy and/or Numeracy intervention would be advantageous. It is important that applicants have a positive attitude and the ability to show initiative. We expect that our team members promote the school’s vision to ‘be our best – for every learner, every day’ and contribute to the delivery of whole school approaches.     • Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
