Project Support Officer

This is a six (6) month fixed term, full time position commencing in April 2026 with possible extension of 6 months and/or permanency

The People Services Division delivers key human resource services that support Departmental business units and staff across all levels. Its core purpose is to ensure effective workforce management through employee and industrial relations, workers’ compensation and injury management, occupational safety and health, staffing and employment services, and strategic human resource planning and policy advice. The Division plays a critical role in supporting a flexible workforce and enabling greater autonomy for schools through responsive HR services and guidance.

Within the Division, the Organisational Design, Development and Planning Directorate provides strategic leadership for major human resource initiatives. It leads planning and implementation of key workforce programs, provides cross-divisional policy advice and evaluation, manages professional learning, and develops policies that support equity and diversity across the Department.

The Role

The role provides administrative and project support to the Level 3 Classroom Teacher and Senior Teacher initiatives and other administrative support within the Organisational Development Branch. It is responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring databases, reconciling records, and analysing data to meet reporting and operational requirements. The role also quality assures and audits project records to ensure client information, application processes and reporting systems are accurate and effectively maintained.

The position supports communication with applicants and stakeholders by preparing correspondence regarding project progress and outcomes, and by providing information on administrative processes via telephone, email and in person. It manages confidential and sensitive matters through appropriate research, referral and timely responses, while maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

In addition, the role contributes to broader branch activities by supporting administrative tasks, assisting with initiatives and projects, and maintaining project information on Departmental Ikon websites. A strong focus is maintained on customer service delivery and continuous improvement of processes and services.
