The Role
SRC is seeking a teacher for a permanent full-time teaching position within our RISE program. There is capacity for this teaching position to also be a 0.8 FTE role within the program in order to deliver some flexibility to applicants. The RISE program is designed to re-engage and support students as they progress through their senior school years. This is an exciting position within our College community that will allow you to utilise your skills and abilities to have a positive impact on students and their future aspirations.
As one of two teachers in the RISE program you will ideally offer a critical role in engaging a small group of senior school students through their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) journey. Applicants with a broad generalist skills set and experience are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant should have the ability to teach Math Essentials, General English, and General Careers & Employability. This approach enables the successful applicant to help students flourish and rebuild confidence and achievement.
A key outcome of the program is to assist students to commence their post-school career planning and pathway. As such, you would be supported to attain and deliver a Certificate II in Workplace Skills qualification. Students will be supported through our VET team in their one day a week work experience program.
The successful applicant would need the capacity to develop and apply their knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice for students engaged in the RISE program. Your prior experience and knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support frameworks will be well regarded and utilised within the program and broader College community. Applicants with knowledge of, or experience in the utilisation of Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE) will be well regarded for this role, however this should not preclude applicants from applying.
