We are seeking to establish a pool of Program Coordinator - Student Services for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Aveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for Year 7 to 12 in Perth’s Swan Valley. The College is recognized as a school of choice with high expectations and standards, a progressive approach and commitment to excellence. Teaching and learning is a focus with Explicit Direct Instruction, the signature pedagogy, supported by a rigorous behaviour curriculum and systems to support conditions for learning in the classroom. The staff are supported through extensive professional development and coaching in these key areas.

Aveley SC's collaborative approach to pedagogy has been recognized as best practice through the Grattan Institute and teaching staff have been filmed by the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) as examples of best practice. The College was a finalist in the 2025 WA Education Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. A central feature of the college is strong teams with an extensive repertoire of curriculum resources to support our staff. As alumni of the Fogarty EDvance program, the school has visitors from across the state and country visiting our classrooms to see our teachers in action.

The Role

The Program Coordinator – Student Services is a key role in supporting the schools vision and moral purpose “success for every student, every day”. The Program Coordinator would manage and deliver relevant programs and initiatives to support staff and students and enhance the positive teaching and learning environment of the college. Suitable applicants will be key members of the school leadership team, working towards the deliverables within the school plan and strategic directions document.

The ideal applicants would have the capacity to support student achievement through a positive learning framework and approach. Our Student Services Managers support our whole school behaviour management system and Conditions for Learning strategies. Each Program Coordinator has responsibility for a particular cohort within Years 7 to 12 and generally another whole school portfolio - matching their skills and interests.  A main component of each of these roles is data analysis and tracking student attendance, behaviour and performance.

Suitable applicants will ideally display leadership that’s supported by their capacity to build positive relationships with staff, as they would collaboratively lead holistic support services across the school. Suitable applicants will ideally have highly efficient communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaboratively nurture and build a professional learning culture.
