This is a 12 month fixed term, part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency

There is a possibility of increased FTE on the original and/or extended tenure.

Situated in the heart of the Avon Valley, on Noongar Country, Brookton District High School (DHS) has been serving our community since 1903. The Role

The role of the Education Assistant - Lead is to lead, mentor, coach, and model good practices for other Education Assistants. You will be an important and valued leader of the Learning Support team. The successful applicant will operate collaboratively with superordinates and subordinates and be able to build and maintain effective team-based relationships. We value individuals who are highly professional, organised and display excellent communication skills, in line with the Department of Education’s Code of Conduct, drawing on these attributes when working with staff and the school community.

Education Assistant – Leads contribute to the design and implementation of documented plans and provide solutions and support to teachers and education assistants, which promote positive student behaviour and improved educational outcomes in the classroom. It is highly desirable for applicants to have experience in working students with a range of learning needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
