John Curtin College of the Arts (JCCA) is a leader in public education. Our college is located on Wadjuk Boodjar in Walyalup (Fremantle) and caters for 1700 students from Years 7 to 12 who come to us through the seven Gifted and Talented programs run by the college for children identified as gifted in the creative domain, including; Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music, Music Theatre and Visual Arts, as well as through a small local catchment or participation in our Soccer Excellence Program, making the college a unique learning environment. For our enrolled students the college also goes through an additional identification process for learners gifted in the intellectual domain and runs a dedicated program for these students in English, Humanities, Maths and Science.

Engagement in creativity and the Arts is as a vehicle for student engagement and motivation at the college. The Arts at John Curtin is as much about providing dynamic opportunities for all students (each year we produce over 100 performances/exhibitions) as it is about developing transferable life skills such as empathy, creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and the ability to communicate, all important attributes for any future pathway. Staff at the college enjoy the opportunity to attend performances throughout the year.

The Role

The successful applicant will assist the Manager Corporate Services (MCS) in the daily financial, marketing and corporate sponsorship aspects of the school’s operations whilst supporting the MCS in financial management by undertaking financial planning, monitoring, research, reporting and analysis to meet established objectives and outcomes relative to business plans. You will provide assistance to the MCS with administering the school’s financial resources, including undertaking end-of-month procedures, checking for data integrity and collating figures for financial planning and budgeting.

The successful applicant will ideally provide high-level administrative support to the MCS, including operating and coordinating school databases, records and management information systems, and establishing and maintaining the school accounts, physical assets and purchasing of resources. You will ideally ensure financial, administrative and information systems are administered in compliance with relevant legislation and Departmental policies and guidelines whilst undertaking minor research and project work in relation to business trends and issues which may impact the operation of the financial aspects of the school's operational business, as required.
