The Role
The School Officer plays a vital role in supporting the school’s financial and administrative operations. Responsibilities include undertaking financial administration practices and assisting with the accurate processing of invoices to maintain effective financial management. The role may also support month-end procedures, including banking processes and maintaining data integrity. In addition, the School Officer collates and prepares financial information to support planning and budgeting processes, contributing to informed decision-making and the responsible management of school resources.
The School Officer also contributes to effective asset and facility management by coordinating the out-of-hours use of school facilities, organising maintenance and repairs, and maintaining key registers and security system codes. The role supports the induction and coordination of administrative support staff and relief personnel. In addition, the position could assist with school communications and marketing through newsletters, website updates, and social media content that promotes school initiatives, celebrates achievements, and strengthens community engagement.

Eligibility

- Demonstrated experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
