The Role
We invite outstanding and experienced educational leaders to apply for appointment to the Deputy Principal pool at Woodbridge PS.
Suitable applicants will ideally display a strong understanding of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, grounded in evidence-informed practice. They will lead with integrity and clarity, fostering a culture of high expectations, strong relationships and collective responsibility for student success. A key focus of the role is building staff capacity through reflective practice, the use of data to inform decision-making, and the implementation of targeted strategies that improve student progress and engagement.
As members of the leadership team, Deputy Principals actively promote the school’s vision of “Aspiring to be the most caring and encouraging community school.” This includes working collaboratively with the Principal, staff and wider community to embed a shared commitment to student-centred decision-making and continuous improvement. The role also involves leading change effectively and aligning initiatives with the school’s strategic priorities.
Deputy Principals play a central role in the effective operation of the school, contributing to the delivery of the Business Plan through strategic decision-making, policy development and the establishment of effective systems. Responsibilities include oversight of timetabling, workforce management and daily operations.
The role includes a strong focus on student and staff wellbeing, with potential responsibility for the Student Services portfolio. This involves leading attendance improvement, supporting the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), and working with staff to embed consistent, high-impact practices. Through data-informed approaches and strong partnerships with families, Deputy Principals ensure every student is supported to thrive and achieve their best.
