Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery. While Statewide Services primarily exists to support schools, it also has an important system-facing role supporting strategy and policy development.
Professional Capability drives the ongoing development of our workforce. Its purpose is to build professional capability to improve student achievement by enabling teaching and leadership excellence. The Leadership Institute as part of Statewide Services Professional Capability provides support to current and aspiring leaders through a range of initiatives and provides high quality, innovative and evidence-based professional learning programs.
The Role
The Leadership Institute is seeking a skilled and innovative educator with extensive knowledge of system initiatives and adult learning principles to join our team. The successful applicant will, in collaboration with team members and stakeholders, develop, design and deliver professional learning programs for teachers and school leaders across the state. A major focus of this role is delivery of middle leaders professional learning programs, including aspirant level 3 classroom teachers. A knowledge of and experience with school councils and boards and Department of Education policies would also be beneficial.

The Education Officer works in a culturally responsive and context specific manner to productively and respectfully engage with schools, communities and stakeholders, supporting the planning, implementation and evaluation of capability building initiatives aligned with the Department’s strategic direction.
The Education Officer gathers feedback, monitors, reviews and evaluates professional learning programs and their quality and facilitates improvements and changes where appropriate. This is achieved through maintaining up-to-date professional knowledge of latest educational, professional learning and leadership development trends.

Eligibility

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
