This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026

Harrisdale Senior High School (SHS) is one of the largest and fastest growing secondary schools in Western Australia, with a student population of more than 2400 across Years 7 to 12, approximately 180 teaching staff, and 70 support staff. The Role

Harrisdale SHS is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable English teacher to join our high-performing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving and growing school community that values academic excellence, critical thinking, and student engagement. 

The successful applicant will ideally have experience teaching Years 7 to 10 English, with a strong understanding of effective English pedagogy and the ability to deliver engaging, conceptually rich lessons. Experience in ATAR English and/or ATAR Literature, Gifted and Talented programs, and working with EALD students will be highly regarded. 

We are looking for a dynamic educator who ideally: 

  • Is confident in delivering curriculum that promotes analysis, creativity, and a deep understanding of language and literature; 
  • Can inspire students through inclusive, student-centred learning experiences; 
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment; 
  • Has a commitment to the school’s values of Care, Respect, Responsibility, and Excellence;
