We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Australind Senior High School (SHS) is located just north of Bunbury, at the gateway to the beautiful Southwest region. We are proud to be one of the region’s most successful schools, with a strong record of achievement for students in both Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways.

At Australind SHS, our purpose is simple; we grow remarkable people. This guides everything we do for our students and our staff. We offer a wide range of opportunities while still maintaining a strong sense of community. We are committed to continually improving teaching and learning through reflective practice and a clear focus on high-quality teaching and learning.

As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school, student care and wellbeing sit at the heart of everything we do. Our strong wellbeing framework ensures every student is supported socially, emotionally, physically and academically.

Our school community is diverse and connected across the Harvey Shire, with around half of our students commuting by bus each day from Harvey, Brunswick Junction, Binningup and surrounding areas. We are supported by a dedicated School Board that values our traditions, and embracing our school motto: “Through Endeavour, Success.”

Our Team

At Australind SHS, our administration team is the heartbeat of the school — the friendly faces welcoming families, the organised minds behind the scenes, and the calm voices helping a busy school run smoothly. We are a welcoming, supportive and professional team who are passionate about our school community. We work hard, enjoy a laugh together and look out for one another.

Working in a school offers something special — every day is purposeful, your work directly supports students and their learning, and you’re part of a close-knit team in a vibrant environment where no two days are the same.

If you’re looking for a role where your work is valued, your team supports you, and you can contribute to something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you. Join a team that truly makes a difference.

The Role

School Officers play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school. In this role, you will support a broad range of administrative functions including financial processes, maintaining school databases and records, assisting with enrolments, preparing materials and reports, coordinating resources, and providing friendly, professional support to staff, students and families. You will also work closely with the Manager Corporate Services and the administration team to help ensure the school operates efficiently and effectively.

Suitable applicants should demonstrate a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices, along with excellent communication and clerical skills. You will ideally be a supportive and reliable team member with sound organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing roles and responsibilities as the needs of the school evolve.

You should model high-quality customer and administrative service, using strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the administration team, school support staff, teaching staff and the wider school community. You will also assist with student-related processes, including supporting enrolment procedures and responding to student enquiries.

Responsibilities may include managing student attendance processes, undertaking reception duties, welcoming visitors, answering telephone calls, responding to routine inquiries and requests for information, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date school databases and management information systems. Experience with school systems, human resources systems and processes, and Microsoft Office 365 would be highly desirable.

This is a role suited to someone who enjoys organisation, variety, teamwork and helping others.

The people who thrive in this role are those who:
