The Role
Leeming SHS ESC is seeking a welcoming and collaborative School Officer to join our team. We are ideally looking for a motivated and proactive applicant who can display initiative and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
The successful applicant should be able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a busy work environment while maintaining a high level of organisation and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are desirable, along with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, families, and members of the wider school community.The capacity to remain organised, meet deadlines, and contribute positively to a supportive team environment will be highly valued.
The School Officer would be responsible for completing a variety of administrative duties which that require skills using word processing and software data packages. Other responsibilities may include reception duties such as meeting and greeting visitors, responding to enquiries, supporting the Workplace Learning team in maintaining student records and The Authority Developed Workplace Learning (ADWPL) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) documentation. As the first point of contact, the successful applicant would ideally have a customer focus. You should also have excellent Information and Communications Technology (ICT) skills to help promote the school using relevant social media and the school website. It would be highly regarded to have experience in the use of Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS), Integris, Microsoft software and Compass.
The School Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial operation of the school. This includes tasks such as reconciling financial records and processing invoices. School Officers also assist with month-end procedures such as transporting receipts to the bank and maintaining data integrity. They will be responsible for collating figures for financial planning and budgeting, which will help the school make informed decisions about its resources.
In addition to financial management, the School Officer will also assist with the management of school assets. This includes coordinating and negotiating maintenance and repairs. They will assist with the induction and support of administrative school support staff, by developing induction materials and coordinating relief staff.
