Statewide Services provides the services and supports required schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery. While the branch primarily exists to support schools, we also have an important system-facing role supporting strategy and policy development.
Service Design and Support provides the shared functions and support needed to provide better services to schools. It also coordinates, implements and supports programs, initiatives, and special projects. Its purpose is to provide strategy, policy and program oversight and operational support to Statewide Services.
The Role
The Service Design and Support Directorate of the Statewide Services Division is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, organised, and flexible Project Support Officer with strong communication skills, to join their team. Service Design and Support facilitates and is involved in a number of projects and initiatives. As such, flexible skills and initiative are highly valued.
Primarily, the Project Support Officers will provide information, advice, and support to Western Australian public schools regarding the Department’s Third-Party Services Catalogue associated with the Students Online in Public Schools Policy. This includes the appropriate use of third-party software applications to ensure that the disclosure of students’ personal information is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
The successful applicant will maintain project databases and systems; monitor, and review administrative support data; identify risks, and provide reports to senior management. Initiative and a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement of systems and processes are highly valued. The Project Support Officers will assess and respond to requests for information and services resolving or escalating issues as appropriate. Strong ICT skills and experience in creating and maintaining complex Microsoft Forms and Excel spreadsheets are desirable.
The roles require a high level of customer service engagement, including fostering and maintaining customer relations, and effective working relationships with internal and external clients to support the provision of a quality support service. Within this role, you will also work with other business units to ensure integrated service delivery to schools and the system. You will be involved in supporting other strategic projects and initiatives as needed.
