The Role

We are seeking experienced Deputy Principals who are ideally committed to achieving the best educational outcomes for all students within a One School Model setting. Applicants should ideally display a strong understanding of inclusive education and the capacity to lead effectively within a diverse school community.

Key components of all Deputy Principal roles include being a contemporary instructional leader who understands and actively supports the school’s strategic direction, contributes to the development of a whole-school instructional model, and mentors’ teachers within collaborative teams. All Deputy Principals would value distributed leadership, foster a positive school culture, and contribute strategically to whole-school planning and continuous improvement. In 2026, we have commenced a whole-school instructional coaching journey, with a strong focus on high-quality teaching and consistent classroom practice. Applicants who can actively support and strengthen this rollout, and who bring expertise in instructional coaching and evidence-based practice, are strongly encouraged to apply.

At our school, we have mainstream and Education Support Program (ESP) Deputy Principal roles.

For applicants appointed to a mainstream Deputy Principal role, responsibilities would include working alongside the Curriculum Coordinator to lead whole-school curriculum implementation, managing and supporting year level teams, and contributing to a distributed leadership model. The desired applicants will ideally show their commitment and experience to drive a culture of excellence in teaching and learning, while supporting both student and staff wellbeing. In addition to line managing staff, responsibilities may include leading a whole-school portfolio such as attendance, behaviour, intervention, Students at Educational Risk processes, and liaison with third-party service providers.

For applicants appointed to the Education Support Program (ESP) Deputy Principal role, responsibilities may include leading the Education Support Program for students with disabilities within our inclusive setting. A strong pedagogical background, experience in differentiating whole-school programs, sound knowledge of the WA Curriculum including ABLEWA, Positive Behaviour Support, an understanding of Enrolment Policies, and proficiency with Disability Resourcing are highly desirable.
