The Role

Join our team as an Education Assistant Special Needs and support the Department's objective of teaching and learning for students with special needs. A key aspect of the role involves assisting in the design and implementation of behaviour management plans. These plans will be developed in consultation with teachers, parents or caregivers or relevant professionals. The Education Assistant would monitor the implementation of these plans and maintain accurate records to help evaluate how well educational programs align with the overall learning and wellbeing outcomes for each student.

The role also involves working directly with students to develop self-management and independence skills. This may include supporting students in building life skills, emotional regulation, and appropriate behavioural responses within the school environment. The Education Assistant will contribute to creating a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and personal growth.

    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
    • Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well being of students.
