The Role

The role of the Education Assistant – Lead is to lead, mentor, coach and model effective practices for other Education Assistants. In this role, the Education Assistant – Lead assists in the planning and delivery of worksite induction and training, supports performance management processes through classroom observation and the provision of feedback to the Manager Corporate Services and/or Principal, and works collaboratively with Education Assistants to build capability and consistency of practice.

The position also assists with skill development in students with language difficulties or those learning English as an additional language. In consultation with teachers, parents/caregivers and the School Psychologist or other relevant professionals, the Education Assistant – Lead contributes to the design and implementation of behaviour management plans and other documented plans.

    • Demonstrated well developed written communication skills, including report writing, and the ability to coordinate, collect and present student data at a whole school community level in a meaningful way.
    • Demonstrated well developed organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate staff rosters and relief to assist in the delivery of effective education programs.
