Northam Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an engaging and motivated Teacher – The Arts to join our friendly and supportive team.

Northam SHS has a focus on Learning Communities where students have greater access to academic, behaviour, engagement and wellbeing support. Our Learning Communities are the hub for helping students feel a stronger sense of belonging by creating consistent, supportive groups where students can build stronger relationships with peers and teachers. Our Learning Communities provide shared experiences and common goals along with some fun and competition to help students feel connected and valued within the school environment.

Spanning the river next to the Visitor Centre and Bila Koort Boodya is the pedestrian suspension bridge, which is the longest of its kind in Australia.

The Role

We're searching for an Arts Teacher who is passionate about fostering holistic student development across a diverse range of subjects. This teaching position will include a combination of Media and Drama and generalist teaching. If you also have skills in other performance or visual arts that will also be considered, your flexibility and adaptability are key. You will work as part of a dedicated team to collaborate across arts subject areas in the provision of an inclusive and broad arts program.

Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
