We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants – Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Springfield Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School located in Kallaroo catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our strong focus on pastoral care and high expectations for all, builds positive relationships to achieve our motto of 'Working Together, Achieving More.'

The Role

As an Education Assistant - Special Needs (EASN) you will assist in the implementation of supported educational programs and work with students with diverse learning needs. An understanding of the specific strategies to cater for the needs of students with a range of diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Development Delay, and Generalised Anxiety Disorder is highly regarded, as well as experience with communication devices. Our EASN staff liaise closely with class teachers, specialist teachers, our Student Services Team, and families.

Suitable applicants should ideally have a high level written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation and recording of individual or small group-based programs. Suitable applicants should also be prepared to apply techniques, skills, and knowledge of relevant principles and practices which may have been acquired through previous experience, on the job learning, or relevant qualifications. As an EASN, we would like you to be committed to maintaining our positive school culture.

    • Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists
    • Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students
