We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

The role of education assistant EAL/D  is an important role at the College. It is fundamental in ensuring that the work undertaken by Student Services and staff to support our students as they progress through school is enhanced by the provision of comprehensive assistance and services to our students.

Suitable applicants would assist teachers and staff in the delivery of planned education programs, including identifying and representing educational and cultural needs of English as Second Language (ESL) students by providing advice on program content relating to the student’s first culture. As education assitant EA/LD, suitable applicants would also provide information to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) parents on the education system and relevant school procedures and school policies.

In this role, suitable applicants would also assist with the general care and supervision of ESL students in out-of-class activities and, if required, on school excursions and activities within or outside the College that result in supervision without the presence of a teacher.

The ideal applicants should display strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with students, staff, external agencies, and parents or caregivers to deliver effective educational programs and build positive relationships with the wider community.

Applicants will ideally have the ability to contribute to a team and provide multi-cultural direction in the development and evaluation of English language programs, language and cultural resources, and individual or group education plans reflective of diverse school communities.

The College has a substantial cohort of students from Arabic speaking countries with associated religious backgrounds therefore applicants with the necessary skills, language, cultural, and religious background to support these students are encouraged to apply.
