As the state’s only Sports College, Darling Range SC provides specialist programs in Australian Football League (AFL), Athletics, Baseball, Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Swimming, and Rugby. Complementing our sporting programs are extensive opportunities to participate in the Academic Challenge and Enrichment Program (ACES), the Music Program, the Vocational Educational Program and the Arts Program.

The Role

The Public Relations and Events Coordinator provides support in developing, coordinating and managing the school’s marketing, communications and business plan needs. You will ideally coordinate and liaise with key stakeholders in the organisation of promotional and school activity events, including the annual senior school ball and graduations; sports award evenings; sports and academic achievements; and other events and celebrations throughout the school calendar year including sports competitions, mega life week, and various year group events.

This role is a key component of the College’s marketing mix. As part of the role, you will ideally be responsible for coordinating consistent branding in all forms of promotion and documentation.

The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills which they will utilise to work collaboratively with the principal, members of the leadership team and various stakeholders, as required. The ability to work independently and maintain high levels of organisation, whilst working on multiple projects, will be advantageous to this role.

In addition, you will establish and maintain social media platforms in consultation with key staff, including the school’s website and Facebook page, ensuring published content is current, relevant and that associated links are active.
