Mosman Park School for Deaf Children (SDC) is a dynamic school which caters for the specific needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. Deaf language and culture are celebrated here, and our bilingual staff and students are proud to communicate in Auslan (Australian Sign Language) and English. The Role
We are seeking a capable and collaborative professional to join our team at Mosman Park SDC. This role plays an important part in supporting the effective operation of the school while working within a bilingual environment that values both Auslan and English.
The successful applicant would support school operations and contribute to a positive and respectful workplace culture that includes Deaf staff (Auslan Language Specialists), Auslan interpreters and other specialist staff. We welcome applicants who display strong organisational skills, leadership potential, and a genuine willingness to learn and work within Deaf language and culture.
While experience in Deaf education or Auslan is highly valued, applicants who display cultural respect, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to developing their understanding of Deaf community practices are encouraged to apply.
The role includes responsibility for maintaining and supporting a range of administrative and operational systems. Applicants should display an understanding of, or willingness to develop operational knowledge of, the systems and policies required to maintain, monitor, analyse and extract information using the following platforms:
- RM Finance
- RM Billing
- RM Asset Manager
- Compass
- Flexi Purchase
- Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAMS)
Experience working with these systems will be highly regarded; however, applicants who display strong administrative capability and the ability to learn new systems are encouraged to apply.
Relevant experience in financial and administrative processes, including End of Month, End of Calendar Year and Financial Year reporting, will be looked upon favourably.
The successful applicant should ideally display the ability to:
- Work collaboratively with deaf and hearing staff
- Support teams that may include Deaf Role Models and Auslan interpreters
- Contribute to a positive and respectful staff culture
- Maintain accurate administrative and financial records
- Develop and apply knowledge of relevant Department of Education policies and systems
Professional learning and support will be provided to help the successful applicant develop the knowledge and skills required to work effectively within a deaf education environment.
