The Role
Kalamunda SHS is seeking to appoint a motivated and knowledgeable Library Officer to support the effective operation of the school library and enhance student learning.
Our library seeks to offer a contemporary and inclusive environment and service that promotes engagement of students in reading and in the life of the school. The Library Officer would manage the daily operations of the school library, ensuring it remains an organised, welcoming and engaging space.
A key part of this role should be to promote reading and engagement with literature across the school community, helping to foster a lifelong love of learning among students.
The successful applicant should contribute to the development of a contemporary library service by creating and maintaining high-quality resources and ensuring library systems and databases are used efficiently to support smooth operations. This may include providing guidance, training and support to colleagues and members of the wider school community as required. The role ideally involves supervision of groups of students outside lesson times or in class learning activities relating to the library.
The successful applicant should display strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, and competence in using a range of computer software applications. Whilst not essential experience with the Destiny Library Management System will also be advantageous.
