Our school is committed to delivering quality schooling for our community. We cater for over 450 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students' needs are met by the school, a highly supportive administrative team, professional teachers, support staff and a school chaplain.

The Role

The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for the opening and closing of the school, carrying out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning.

You would ideally carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, general cleaning, and other such duties as required. Additionally, you would complete vacation cleaning duties, which includes window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas, and other such duties as required.

The successful applicant ideally would have experience in supervising staff, as you will work alongside school staff and manage staff performance in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services. In addition, the Cleaner in Charge will liaise with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters, and record and respond to issues and concerns. As the Cleaner in Charge, you would also maintain the cleaner’s time book, arrange relief staff, organise on the job training of new and current cleaning staff and be responsible for monitoring and ordering stock supplies and stocktake of cleaning resources.

The successful applicant should ideally have good attention to detail and be able to work well with others to ensure a clean and safe school environment. Ideally, you would be organised, reliable and punctual, a good communicator and be able to negotiate solutions that meet school and individual expectations.
