Our well-maintained, modern facilities foster an inviting and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

We have a dynamic and experienced team of educators ranging from early career teachers to Level 3 Classroom Teachers and Senior Teachers. For over 50 years, Karratha SHS has built a strong local reputation for producing responsible, engaged, and compassionate young people who go on to make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Our school offers a wide range of programs, enabling students to pursue their interests and talents in music, drama, visual arts, sport, and outdoor education. Our state-of-the-art Technologies building provides outstanding facilities for students to develop valuable skills for careers in the trades and related industries.

Karratha SHS is guided by four strategic priority areas that shape our everyday practice:

  • Conditions for Learning: We maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing, engagement, and academic growth.

  • Staff Capability: We invest in our people by identifying, developing, and supporting staff through consistent and effective leadership.
  • Community Partnerships: We foster strong engagement with parents, families, local stakeholders, and external agencies.

Our commitment to teaching and learning excellence is supported by a whole-school instructional model that promotes consistent, high-quality teaching across all year levels. Through explicit instruction, teachers deliver clear, purposeful lessons that reduce variability and ensure every student receives a high standard of education. All staff are supported through ongoing instructional coaching and mentoring.
