We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Merriwa Education Support Centre (ESC) caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and is well regarded within our community, contributing to steady enrolment growth.  As the School Officer is often the first point of contact it is essential you bring a friendly, positive, and caring approach along with the ability to uphold high standards of professionalism when engaging with our parents, carers, and the wider community. You must be self-motivated, possess strong organisational skills and work effectively both independently and as part of our team. The role also requires liaising with external therapists to support the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) process and ensure therapy services occur with minimal disruption to classroom programs.

Merriwa ESC is located on the same campus as Merriwa Primary School, in the north metropolitan suburb of Merriwa. The Centre is equipped with specialised facilities and dedicated staff to meet the diverse needs of our students

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be proficient in using a range of software applications especially databases including Integris, Compass, spreadsheets and word processing tools. You would assist with managing the human resources of the school by carrying out inductions for school support staff, managing visitor sign-in using Passtab whilst ensuring all WWCC status are current. You will ideally also assist in financial processes such as Purchase Card reconciliation, cash handling and invoicing.

Suitable applicants would be responsible for managing the enrolment process, offering information and guidance, collecting required documentation for students with disabilities, and maintaining awareness of the eligibility process.
