We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

As an Education Assistant – Special Needs at our school you will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to collaborate well with the teacher to create and maintain a supportive, inclusive education program to meet the specific needs of the students. You would assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs, including the operation of computers and digital technologies, and implement individual student or small group programs or demonstrations. Experience in working with students with autism spectrum disorder, mental health and behavioural issues would be highly desirable.

Also when required, the Education Assistant – Special Needs will provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participates in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education. Suitable applicant will use excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with the teacher to create and maintain a supportive, inclusive education program to meet the specific needs of the students. They will ideally be organised and able to use their initiative to assist the teacher with the general care and wellbeing of students and maintenance of the learning environment.

    • Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
