
We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a Mainstream Education Assistant, suitable applicants will assist in the delivery of planned intervention education programs in lower and middle primary. They would also collaborate and work in a team environment with the intervention teacher. Suitable applicants will ideally possess good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of small group programs, as well as the ability to support the general health and well-being of students. They should be organised and be able to use their initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the intervention program.
Suitable applicants should work under the teacher’s direction. As an Mainstream Education Assistant you would also provide support to ensure the learning environment is engaging, inclusive and relevant with the health and safety of students being a high priority. Suitable applicants will ideally have the ability to manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs.
As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you should be organised and able to use your time effectively to run small group sessions, and able to prepare and maintain student equipment, materials, and resources, for use in small groups. Suitable applicants will assist with data collection and safe storage of items after classes and when activities have concluded.
