We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants Special Needs (EASN) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable EASN will, under teacher direction, assist in delivering education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Suitable applicants would work closely with teachers and program coordinators to deliver planned education programs, including the use of computers and digital technologies, and will be responsible for implementing individual student or small‑group programs. In-addition, as EASN you would provide feedback on educational outcomes and intervention programs and participate in the evaluation process.
In collaboration with key stakeholders, EASNs assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing documented plans that promote student engagement, self-management, and self-regulation. Suitable applicants would also assist in the delivery of high‑impact intervention programs that cater to students’ needs, ensuring every student feels valued, respected and empowered to participate fully. You will provide timely feedback on student progress and developmental goals and support the holistic health, safety and wellbeing of students. Additionally, you will support students during school-based and system assessments, ensuring compliance with testing protocols and maintaining a calm and supportive environment.
Ideally, we are seeking EASN who possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate with key staff to maintain safe and inclusive learning environments which meet the specific needs of students. Applicants with knowledge and experience working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties and the ability to support student growth - academically and socially - within the classroom and school setting are highly desirable.

- Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programs, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
