We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant Special Needs (EASN) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

As EASN at Butler College, suitable applicants would be required to work collaboratively, under teacher direction, to deliver small group and 1:1 programs for academic and social/emotional learning and provide feedback on student progress. They support classroom teachers in all areas of the school by valuing and supporting inclusive education, student dignity and independence through the acquisition of self-management skills. They take on roles and responsibilities which includes contributing as an effective and collaborative team member, maintaining records in relation to student plans and assisting classroom teachers with preparation and maintenance of a range of inclusive learning environments to ensure they are appropriately resourced with the health and wellbeing of students a high priority. They receive training and guidance to safely and confidently support students with complex medical diagnoses, including assisting with hoisting, toileting, and a range of daily care needs.

    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
    • Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
