The School

Boyup Brook District High School (DHS) is seeking a motivated and capable Secondary Mathematics Teacher for a fixed term contract for the remainder of the 2026 school year, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Boyup Brook DHS is a vibrant, Level 5 Independent Public School offering a dynamic learning environment for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Situated on two campuses in the picturesque town of Boyup Brook, our secondary students (Years 7–10) learn on a dedicated high school campus just 700 metres from our primary site.

As a small rural high school, we pride ourselves on strong relationships, high expectations, and a personalised approach to learning. Our students, drawn from families involved in farming, viticulture, and local businesses, benefit from a strong sense of community and connection to the local area.

Since becoming an Independent Public School in 2012, we have focused on delivering high-quality teaching through High Impact Teaching Strategies, Positive Behaviour Support, Restorative Approaches, and evidence-informed programs. Staff work collaboratively within a whole-school connected practice model, guided by our vision:

“Every child matters. We set high expectations, embrace cultural diversity, and foster community partnerships. With a commitment to high-quality teaching and strong relationships, we ensure student success and outcomes that go beyond academics. Together, we strive for excellence, creating an inclusive environment where every child thrives.”

Find out more about our school by visiting www.boyupbrookdhs.wa.edu.au or Schools Online.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Mathematics teacher for Years 7–10 who is committed to improving student achievement in numeracy and building strong, positive relationships within a small secondary setting.

The successful applicant will ideally:

  • Deliver engaging, explicit Mathematics instruction aligned to the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Use high-impact teaching strategies and data-informed practice to monitor progress and provide targeted feedback.
  • Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations, engagement, and student wellbeing.
  • Collaborate within a small secondary team and contribute to whole-school improvement priorities.

As we are a small high school, this position will also require flexibility to teach in additional learning areas to complete the advertised FTE. These may include subjects such as Digital Technologies, Careers and Workplace Learning, or other areas aligned to the applicant’s strengths and experience. A willingness to contribute across learning areas is highly valued and reflects the adaptable, team-oriented nature of teaching in a district high school.

The ability to connect learning to future pathways and support students as they transition beyond Year 10 will be an advantage.
