The Role
You should provide strategic and operational leadership in Support and Engagement across the school, ensuring every student is known, supported and able to thrive. This role is centred on building an inclusive, engaging and responsive learning environment that meets the diverse academic, behavioural and wellbeing needs of our students.
You will ideally lead a highly skilled Student Services and Support team, working primarily with Tier 3 students and their families, and collaborating closely with teachers, Special Needs Education Assistants (SNEAs), allied health professionals and external agencies. Your leadership should strengthen staff capacity, refine systems and ensure evidence-informed interventions that support engagement, attendance and achievement.
This is a key leadership position within our cohesive and high-performing Leadership Team, contributing strategically to whole-school improvement in line with the Aubin Grove PS Pedagogical Framework and FiSH Charter.
Key responsibilities may include
- Lead the strategic direction of Support and Engagement across the school, aligning practice with the Aubin Grove PS Business Plan and Pedagogical Framework.
- Build teacher and SNEA capacity to effectively support complex academic, behavioural and social-emotional needs.
- Oversee Tier 3 case management processes, working collaboratively with families, case workers and external agencies.
- Lead systems that strengthen student engagement, wellbeing and attendance.
- Manage Disability Resourcing System (DRS) applications and associated funding processes with rigour and accuracy.
- Oversee staffing allocations, timetables and funding distribution to ensure equitable and targeted support.
- Use data intelligently to identify trends, monitor intervention impact and drive continuous improvement.
- Strengthen inclusive education practices and ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislative requirements.
- Champion and model our FiSH Charter, fostering a culture of care, high expectations and professional integrity.
You will ideally:
- Be passionate about inclusivity and meeting the needs of vulnerable and complex learners.
- Display experience leading student services or support teams within a primary school context.
- Have a strong understanding of the Disability Resourcing System and experience completing funding applications.
- Have a background in psychology or demonstrated expertise supporting students with diverse and complex needs.
- Lead staff, manage timetables and allocate resources strategically.
- Be highly organised, proactive and capable of working independently while contributing positively to a large Leadership Team.
- Be Skilled in building strong, respectful partnerships with families and external agencies.
- Be a values-driven leader who embodies our FiSH Charter and believes every child can succeed with the right support.
