Eddystone Primary School (PS) is located in the suburb of Heathridge, approximately 27km north of the Perth City. Our motto is 'ACHIEVING TOGETHER' every child challenged to reach their full potential as a life-long learner. We cater for Kindergarten to Year 6 students, and our staff focus on individual students, enabling us to maintain a small school feel amid a growing area.

The Eddystone PS multicultural learning community works collaboratively to ensure a strong culture of learning. Parents are valuable partners, as is evidenced by their voluntary support in learning and sporting programs, involvement in decision making processes and fundraising and continuing interest in their children's development. We also enjoy wider community support from local businesses and organisations.

The Role

We are seeking friendly and flexible Library Officer who can build positive relationships with our diverse range of students and parents/carers, colleagues and the wider community and be a capable and supportive team member. As the Library Officer you will support the day-to-day operations of the library and provision of reference, information, and associated services to teaching staff and students. Other responsibilities of the Library Officer may include assisting students and staff with the selection of appropriate reading resources and celebrating special calendar events throughout the school and library through literature.

Suitable applicants ideally should be confident with clerical and library support, including preparing correspondence and timetabling library times with the classroom teachers. The successful applicant should maintain the resources and environment of the school library to support the learning outcomes of students. You should be able to confidently operate library systems to ensure library records are up-to-date and library resources are maintained and accessible.

The Library Officer should handle enquiries and guide students and staff in using library equipment and locating library resources and information. Knowledge of how to run and manage a budget, including the purchasing of relevant stock and required licenses is highly regarded.
