This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026
This role has subsidised on-site housing available to the successful applicant should they require accommodation to take up the position.
Western Australia College of Agriculture – Harvey (WACOA - Harvey) is a vibrant, co‑educational specialist school for students in Years 10–12. As a leading provider of agricultural and trades‑based education, we attract motivated young people from across Western Australia, many of whom board on site to fully immerse themselves in our authentic, hands‑on learning environment. Our students apply to be here because they want real experience, real skills, and real pathways—and as a result, they are engaged, purposeful and eager to learn.
Situated in Wokalup, just 8 km south of the Harvey town centre, the College is set on a 900‑hectare working farm operating a range of semi‑commercial agricultural enterprises. This unique setting provides students with daily opportunities to learn through real‑life work, using industry‑standard practices, equipment and technologies. Our Trades Training Centre further expands students’ options through high‑quality Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs that prepare them for employment, apprenticeships, and further education.
Graduates of WACOA Harvey are highly employable and consistently achieve outstanding post‑school outcomes. Many secure apprenticeships or skilled work shortly after graduation, while others transition successfully into further training or university—supported by a university‑level bridging program delivered right here on campus.
Harvey and the surrounding region offer an enviable lifestyle. Only 1.5 hours south of Perth, 20 minutes from the coast, and 40 minutes from Bunbury, the area provides the perfect balance of rural charm and modern convenience. The community is friendly and well‑resourced, with excellent sporting facilities, shopping, medical services, and plentiful recreational opportunities. It is a genuinely great place to live, work and raise a family.

The Role
As Deputy Principal, you will play a key role in providing educational leadership and shaping a positive and aspirational school culture within a specialist agricultural and vocational learning environment. You will collaborate closely with the Principal and administrative team to promote and enact the College’s values, vision, and strategic direction, ensuring these are authentically reflected across both the academic and agricultural training programs.
You will utilise effective change management strategies to drive continuous improvement and contribute to workforce effectiveness by leading, developing, and motivating staff across classroom, farm, trades, and residential settings. Your leadership will directly support high‑quality teaching, strong student engagement, and improved educational, pastoral and industry‑aligned outcomes.
A key component of your role is to contribute to the School Plan through participative decision‑making, policy development, and robust operational systems. In an agricultural college context, you will collaborate with program and farm managers to ensure safe, productive, and educationally rich operations across the farm enterprises and Trades Training Centre. You will support compliance with relevant regulations, including those governing workplace safety, VET delivery, agricultural operations, and residential services.
You will also manage a range of administrative and operational functions essential to the effective running of the College, including information systems, staff performance processes, communication structures, and oversight of staffing and leave entitlements. Working within a boarding‑school environment, you may additionally support pastoral care systems, duty rosters, emergency management, and student wellbeing initiatives unique to a residential agricultural college context.
If you have proven experience in educational leadership and a passion for fostering a dynamic, positive learning environment where students thrive academically, practically, and personally, we invite you to apply.
