Melville Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and dedicated Gardener-Handyperson to join our team and help maintain the welcoming environment our school community values.

The Role
As our Gardener-Handyperson, you should take pride in ensuring the school grounds, gardens and facilities are presented to a high standard. Your work will support a safe, clean and attractive environment for students, staff and visitors.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Maintaining turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees and other soft landscaping
- Caring for hard landscaping features such as courts and paved areas
- Performing minor maintenance repairs and general handyperson duties
- Operating and maintaining gardening tools, machinery and equipment
- Monitoring and maintaining reticulation systems
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with school procedures
We are ideally looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for the outdoors and pride in maintaining a well-presented environment
- Can work independently and recognise tasks that need attention without specific instruction
- Has effective communication skills to build positive working relationships with staff and external contractors
- Is confident performing minor repairs and familiar with safe work practices
- Has experience with gardening machinery, tools and reticulation systems
