The Role
Baldivis SC is seeking a dedicated, relationship-driven teacher to join our Senior School Engagement Program (GROW) and Future Ready Program. The successful applicant should design and deliver purposeful, relevant learning experiences that build students’ academic skills, personal agency, and readiness for tertiary education, training, and employment.
This role is grounded in the principles of Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID’s) Tertiary and Career Readiness framework, with a strong focus on relational capacity, high expectations with support, and the explicit teaching of organisational, communication, and self-management skills. The successful applicant will ideally create structured, supportive classroom environments that foster belonging, engagement, and student voice while maintaining clear routines and consistent expectations.
To be successful in this role, applicants should display a commitment to improving student engagement and achievement through inclusive, strengths-based practice. The teacher should work collaboratively with the Pathways Team, Student Services, teaching staff, families, and external agencies to provide coordinated, wrap-around support that responds to individual student needs. The ability to plan and implement targeted strategies that increase connection, engagement, attendance, and academic progress will be highly regarded.
This position operates within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. The GROW Program provides structured Tier 2 support for students who benefit from additional academic, behavioural, and wellbeing scaffolds, while still accessing rigorous curriculum and clear post-school pathways. The successful applicant will ideally use data-informed practices to monitor progress and adjust support to help students move toward greater independence and success.
Within the GROW Engagement Program, you will deliver the Certificate II in Workplace Learning and a Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways, alongside General or Foundation English and Mathematics courses. You will also teach within the College’s Future Ready Program, supporting students to develop transferable skills aligned with career development, employability, and lifelong learning.
