The Role
Dalwallinu DHS is seeking a positive and friendly Library Officer to join our team.
As a Library Officer, you will supervise the day-to-day operations of the library and oversee the provision of reference, information, and associated services to teaching staff and students. You will ideally also support staff in the selection of resources to ensure the library’s collection meets curriculum and recreational reading needs.
A key part of this role will be to promote reading and engagement with literature across the school community, helping to foster a lifelong love of learning among students.
You will be responsible for administering library systems to ensure records are accurate and up to date, and for ensuring that library resources are processed, maintained, and readily accessible to students, staff, and parents at all times.
The successful applicant will ideally have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. They should be confident in using a range of computer software packages and preferably familiar with the Smart Library, library management systems. Experience in managing the range of tasks needed to run and maintain a school library is highly desirable. The library officer role is a key literacy support role and requires a proactive, organised person with the ability to support both students and staff in a busy and dynamic school environment.
