
We are seeking to establish a pool of Gardener - Handyperson for permanent and fixed term, part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a Gardener - Handyperson, suitable applicants would provide gardening, grounds, and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. Suitable applicants should maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean, and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. Suitable applicants should ideally possess knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals. Suitable applicants woud ideally require experience in servicing gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department’s policies and guidelines.
A suitable Gardener - Handyperson should ideally possess good communication and organisation skills as well as attention to detail and be able to work unsupervised as well as within a team environment.
