We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

The school values strong relationships as the foundation for student success. Suitable applicants will ideally build positive relationships with students, families and staff, and work collaboratively with teachers to support planned learning programs for individual students and small groups. The role focuses on improving curriculum access, engagement, progress and achievement for all students.

Possible positions include working within a Pre-Primary setting as the main Education Assistant, supporting all students while also providing targeted support for students with additional needs, as well as roles across a range of primary classrooms supporting teachers and students alike. These positions are subject to the needs of the school.

Applicants should display flexibility, initiative and strong communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Knowledge of evidence-based strategies to support learning, behaviour and disability is highly regarded. Experience supporting students with disability, behavioural needs or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) will be highly regarded. Experience with small-group intervention is an advantage.

    • Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
