The Infrastructure Division is responsible for the planning and provision of facilities (land, buildings and equipment) across the Department. This includes land planning, student enrolment forecasting, facilities planning, strategic asset management, capital works programs, maintenance and minor works programs, and the delivery of facilities-related services.
The Strategy and Planning Directorate leads longer-term strategic planning for land and building infrastructure. It prepares capital funding proposals, delivers statistical and demographic planning, develops asset management and sustainability strategy and policy, and manages land acquisition and the Department’s land estate.
The Infrastructure Reform and Systems Branch is within the Strategy and Planning Directorate and leads cross-cutting reform and system improvement initiatives across the Department’s infrastructure functions. The Branch develops and implements frameworks, governance approaches, data and reporting capabilities, and supporting systems that strengthen infrastructure planning, prioritisation, delivery and oversight.
Working with internal business areas and service partners, the Branch drives continuous improvement, supports implementation of new processes and tools, and promotes consistent standards and evidence-based decision-making across the infrastructure lifecycle to improve outcomes for public schools and the broader education system.
The Role
This role provides administrative and project support for state-wide infrastructure reform projects and programs, including the development and maintenance of record management systems, project templates, databases and other supporting resources. You will be part of a forward-focused infrastructure reform team delivering varied and high-impact projects, with broad exposure to project support, systems, governance and data processes, and opportunities to build capability and contribute to continuous improvement.
You will also support consultant engagements for reform initiatives and ensure contract and procurement activities comply with financial legislation, State Supply Commission requirements and Department policies. Maintaining the integrity of infrastructure data, undertaking analysis, and preparing timely and accurate reports are key components of the role.
We are seeking applicants with demonstrated project support or project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and activities concurrently within time and budget constraints. Well-developed computer application skills and experience using spreadsheets and databases are essential. Strong analytical and conceptual skills, and the ability to develop practical solutions to complex problems, are highly regarded.
