We are seeking to establish a pool of Gardener - Handypersons for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Lakeland Senior High School (SHS) is a thriving school community. Extracurricular programs are in abundance and after school homework classes are well attended. Staff are highly committed and seek to develop friendly and supportive working relationships with students. The Role

The Gardener - Handyperson will work as part of a team providing gardening, grounds, and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. This includes overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes. Additionally, the role involves maintaining hard landscaping features like courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies. The Gardener is also tasked with keeping gardening facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition, reporting faults promptly, and adhering to safe work practices.
