We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

We are seeking passionate and skilled Education Support Teachers to join our team.

In this role, you will ideally:

  • Provide a supported, functional and academic learning environment for students with disabilities.
  • Work towards the continuous improvement of school programs and the development of a highly skilled and proficient workforce.
  • Plan and deliver curriculum in line with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) Framework, individualising learning to meet Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and maximise outcomes.
  • Lead and manage Education Assistants (EAs) to ensure effective classroom practice and student engagement.

Desired Knowledge and Skills

The ideal applicants would have experience in:

  • Talk4Writing and Promoting Literacy Development (PLD) Diana Rigg literacy programs.
  • Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH) strategies and dynamic planning of individualised learning outcomes.
  • Understanding of Intellectual Disability (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and mental health conditions, and their impact on student learning and wellbeing.
  • Education Support teaching practices and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Use of Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
  • Proficiency in Key Word Sign is highly desirable.

Ideally suitable applicants will:

  • Be a strong team player, capable of managing and leading a classroom team of EAs effectively and efficiently.
  • Display excellent teamwork and communication skills to foster collaboration and trust with staff, students, and families.
  • Set and maintain classroom routines and expectations to ensure a structured, safe and positive learning environment.
  • Bring Education Support experience in a primary school context, or a willingness to rapidly build expertise.
  • Work effectively with parents, carers, therapists, and a range of other professionals to ensure consistent support and shared goals for every student.
  • Show familiarity with the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Standards and a commitment to ongoing self-reflection and professional growth
