
This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026.
Gidgegannup Primary School (PS) was opened in 1992 and is in the Shire of Swan and is outer Metropolitan. The school is in a very tranquil setting, being on the outskirts of town and backing onto a rural aspect. The classroom clusters are built on the contours of a hill using this elevation to advantage.
Gidgegannup PS is a level 4 primary school with a total enrolment of almost 180 students. A large proportion of our students travel to and from school on one of five buses. The school has three teaching blocks each consisting of a 5-classroom cluster, a resource block containing the school Library, Art Room and Music Room. We currently provide Art, Music, Science, PE and our LOTE language is Chinese which is delivered online by video link with Beijing.

The Role
Gidgegannup PS are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join their friendly team!
The successful applicant will ideally be an effective classroom practitioner and work hard to ensure all students are engaged with the curriculum. You will ideally be a collaborative and positive teacher and work with colleagues, the school leadership and the wider school community to ensure we provide a positive and uplifting environment where students succeed. The successful applicant should be a collaborative and creative educator who can deliver a dynamic and engaging Visual Arts program within a primary school setting. They will ideally design rich, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that nurture students’ artistic skills, imagination, and confidence. The Western Australian Arts Curriculum (Visual Arts) should guide planning and assessment to ensure a high‑quality and comprehensive arts education for all students.
The successful applicant will ideally be an effective and inspiring specialist practitioner who actively engages students through hands‑on, process‑focused artmaking and thoughtful exploration of media, techniques, and visual conventions. They should work collaboratively with colleagues, school leadership, and the wider school community to contribute to a positive, inclusive, and creative school culture where every student is supported to succeed and express themselves through the visual arts.
