The Role
The Cleaner will be responsible for carrying out internal cleaning duties in accordance with Department policy and procedures. These duties will include maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet and window cleaning, dusting and removal of cobwebs. External duties will include but not limited to rubbish removal, cleaning of drink troughs, verandahs and undercover areas including removal of cobwebs. You should have a good knowledge of vacation cleaning duties such as shampooing of carpets, pressure washing of verandahs, window cleaning and other duties as required.
The hours of work will be Monday to Friday (10.30am – 1.30pm) with the flexibility to cover the AM shift (5.45am – 8.45am) or PM shift (3pm – 6pm)if and when required, dependant on the school’s needs.
You will communicate with the Cleaner-in-charge and follow directions to complete other cleaning duties as instructed. The successful applicant will ideally have good attention to detail and will be able to work well with others to ensure a clean and safe school environment. You should be organised, reliable and punctual, work well both autonomously and as part of a team, and ideally have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices.
